The Darby Field Inn has been the “special occasion spot” in the Mt. Washington Valley for over 40 years, offering classic specialties such as roast duckling and panko crusted rack of lamb. We strive to provide a unique experience to both our inn and outside guests alike, and to make every visit to the inn an exceptional one.
Arrive early to enjoy a traditional beverage in the tavern, out among our perennial flower gardens, or fireside in our living room. Dinner by lamplight includes views of the Presidential Mountains, including the majestic Mt. Washington. Our dinner menu features seasonal recipes prepared with local ingredients whenever possible, including herbs and vegetables from our own garden. We also offer a hand-selected list of wines to compliment your meal.
Due to Covid-19 our dining space is limited in order to maintain safe social distancing for our dinner guests. We serve a three course meal on both Friday and Saturday evenings by reservation only with an advanced pre-order. Please reserve your meal with us as soon as possible to ensure that we can accommodate you at the time that you would most prefer.

Dinner for two includes a choice of soup or salad, a shared appetizer, any two entrees, shared dessert and coffee or tea for $90.

Large shrimp wrapped with applewood smoked bacon and baked in a molasses, bourbon glaze .

Creamy brie and tangy orange marmalade baked together in puff pastry until golden brown.

Green-leaf lettuce and baby spinach topped with blue cheese crumbles, dried cranberries and toasted pecans.

All entrees include warm rolls with butter and seasonal vegetables.
Non-pasta dishes are served with choice of rice or potato.
Roasted Rack of Lamb
Rubbed with fresh herbs and Dijon mustard, coated with Panko bread crumbs and cooked to order; served with a Cabernet sauce .
Roast Half Duckling
A half duckling, roasted crisp, and accompanied by our raspberry Chambord sauce.
Briefly marinated in our teriyaki sauce then pan seared to perfection.
Boneless breast sautéed with olive oil, capers, and sun-dried tomatoes; served with a lemon, white wine and garlic pan sauce and sprinkled with feta cheese.
Lightly spiced with Jamaican jerk seasonings, pan-seared and served with mango chutney.
Tossed with our own roasted red pepper cream sauce and sprinkled with toasted pecans.
Our full country breakfast is included with every room rental and is served most mornings from 8:30 – 9:30.
Sometimes elaborate, sometimes simple, always delicious!
Breakfast is served in our mountain-view dining room. Window seats include a view of our bird feeder and a hummingbird feeder (in summer).
Guest favorite: begin your day with a fresh cup of coffee and use provided binoculars and books to identify as many birds as you can!
